We are aware that insufficient information and overly complicated language are the common issues in the majority of privacy policies because we share the use of multiple online services as you. We will be taking the opposite approach as we do our best to write our Privacy Policy and related documents in plain language in a way that it will be easily comprehensible when our users read through our policies .

Welcome to YouApp’s Privacy Policy

We appreciate that you trust us with your information and we intend to always keep it that way. We want to make sure that you are aware of and understand the information we collect, why we collect it, how it is used and your choices regarding your information provided. This Policy describes our privacy practices in plain language, keeping legal and technical jargon to a minimum. This document may be updated at any time without notice.

1. INTRODUCTION

Thank you for visiting YouApp (“YouApp”), a social networking app with financial features, provided by YouApp Pte. Ltd. This Privacy Policy applies to the websites, apps, events and other services provided by YouApp that will be categorized under “Services” throughout the rest of this policy. To make it extra clear, we have added links to this Privacy Policy whenever applicable.

Some services may require their own unique privacy policy. If a service has its own privacy policy, then that policy supersedes this current policy.

2. DEFINITIONS

As used in this Privacy Policy:

  • User” means an individual who (a) interacts with us, (b) submits any information to us; (c) has contacted us through any means to find out more about any Services, or (d) may or has, entered into a contract with us for the supply or any Services;
  • Data Protection Laws” means any applicable law relating to the protection, privacy and security, collection, use, disclosure and/or processing of sensitive or other personally identifiable information, including the Singapore Personal Data Protection Act 2012; and
  • Personal Data” means all data that falls within the definition of personal information, personal data, personally identifiable information or similar language under Data Protection Laws.

For the avoidance of doubt, in the event that Data Protection Laws permits YouApp to collect, use, disclose and/or process your Personal Data without your consent, such permission granted by the law shall continue to apply.

3. WHAT PERSONAL DATA WE COLLECT

It goes without saying that it would be impossible for us to help develop meaningful connections for you without some information about you, such as basic profile details and the types of people you would like to meet. We also collect information about your use of our services such as access logs, as well as information from third parties. For example, when you gain access to our Services via your social media account or when you upload information from your social media account to complete your profile on YouApp, some information from those social media accounts will be collected to ease your signup process. A further explanation on this can be found below: 

Information you give us

You have the choice to omit or give certain information when using our services. This includes:

  • When you create an account, you provide us with your login credentials and/or phone number, as well as some basic details necessary for the Service to work, such as your gender and email address.
  • When you complete your profile, you can share with us additional information, such as details on your personality, lifestyle, interests and photos. To add certain content such as pictures for display purposes, you may allow us to access your camera or photo album.
  • When you agree to provide allow us the collection of your Contact List information. We securely store the data solely for the purpose of facilitating connections and invites to your Contact List by your requests. Rest assured that your Contact List information is solely used for this purpose. The Contact List information is not utilized for marketing purposes nor shared with any other user. Our commitment is to maintain the confidentiality and security of your data, ensuring a trustworthy and respectful user experience.
  • When you subscribe to a paid Service or make a purchase directly from us (rather than through a platform such as iOS or Android), you provide us or our payment service providers with information such as your debit or credit card number or other financial information.
  • When you participate in surveys, focus groups or market studies, you provide us with your insights on our products and service, responses to our questions and testimonials.
  • When you choose to participate in our promotions, events or contests, we collect the information that you used to register or enter.
  • When you provide national identity or passport and liveness test for badge verification to verify as a real human.
  • When you provide individual or business account verification for the purpose of unlock merchant features to facilitate payment and withdrawals.
  • If you contact us (for example, through our customer care team or on social media), we gather the information you give us during the interaction.  
  • If you share the information of other people (for example, if you use contact details of a friend for a given feature) with us, we process this information on your behalf in order to complete your request.
  • Of course, we also process your chats with other users as well as the content you publish as necessary for the operation of the Service.

Information we receive from others

In addition to the information you have provided to us directly, we do receive information of you from third parties include::

  • Users – Users may provide information about you as they use our Services such as the direct interaction between the said user with you or when they submit a report against you.
  • Social Media – You may decide to share information with us through your social media account. For instance, if you decide to create or log into your YouApp account via your social media or other accounts (for example, Facebook, Google or Apple) or to provide content to our Service such as uploading photos from one of your social media accounts (for example, Facebook or Instagram).
  • Other Partners – We may receive information about you from our partners, for instance where there is publication of YouApp’s advertisement on a partner’s service(in which case they may pass along details on a campaign’s success). Where legally allowed, we can also receive information about suspected or convicted bad actors from third parties as part of our efforts to ensure our users’ safety and security.

Information generated when you use our services

When you use our Service, this generates technical data on which features you have used, how you have used them and the device(s) you use to gain access to our Service.  See below for more details.

  • Usage of Information – The use of the Service generates data about your activity on our app, for instance how you use them (for example, after you logged in, what features have you been using, what actions do you take, the type of information shown to you, referring webpages address and ads that you interacted with) and your interactions with other users (for example, users you connect and interact with, when you exchanged with them, number of messages you send and receive).
  • Device Information – We collect information from and about the device(s) you use to access our Services, this include hardware and software information such as IP address, device ID and type, apps settings and characteristics, app crashes, advertising IDs (which are randomly generated numbers that you can reset at your device’s settings), identifiers associated with cookies or other technologies that may uniquely identify a device or browser.
  • Other Information with your Consent – If you give us permission, we can collect your precise geolocation (latitude and longitude). The collection of your geolocation may occur in the background even when you are not using the Services if the permission you approved expressly permits such collection. If such permission was declined, we will not collect it. Similarly, with your consent, we may collect photos and videos (for instance, if you want to publish a photo or video or participate in streaming features). In the event that the information you opt to share is considered “special” or “sensitive” in certain jurisdiction, you are consenting to our processing of that information with this Privacy Policy. In some instances, you may revoke your consent by adapting your settings (for instance in relation to the collection of our precise geolocation) or by deleting your content (for instance where you entered information in your profile that may be considered “special” or “sensitive”). In any event, you have the full right to revoke your consent at any given time by reaching out to us at the address provided at the end of this Privacy Policy. 

4. COLLECTION AND TRANSFER OF DATA OUTSIDE OF THE EEA

As outlined above, we may collect Personal Data from customers located in the EEA. To facilitate the Services we provide to customers located in the EEA, we request explicit consent for the transfer of Personal Data from the EEA to outside of the area. If you are an individual located in the EEA and you decline to consent to such transfer, you will no longer be able to use YouApp and our Service. You will have the ability to withdraw your digital assets; however, all other functionalities will be disabled.

5. HOW WE USE YOUR PERSONAL DATA

YouApp uses Personal Data to communicate with you and to administer, deliver, improve, and personalize the Services. YouApp might also generate generic data out of any Personal Data we collect and use it for our own purposes. We may also use such data to communicate with you in relation to other products or services offered by YouApp and/or its partners. We do not share your Personal Data with third parties (other than partners in connection with their services to YouApp) except where you have given your consent and further detailed below.

We may share your Personal Data with third parties:

  1. If we think that sharing it is necessary to enforce the Terms of Service;
  2. To comply with government agencies, including regulators, law enforcement and/or justice departments;
  3. To third parties who provide services to YouApp (such as administration or technical services);
  4. In connection with the sale or transfer of our business or any part thereof.
  5. We allow you to use our Services in connection with third-party services. If you use our Services with such third-party services, we may receive information about you from them; for example, if you use the share button to share   with your contacts and groups on other apps. Please note that when you use third-party services, their own terms and privacy policies will govern your use of those services and products.

Additionally, we have implemented international standards to prevent money laundering, terrorist financing and circumventing trade and economic sanctions and will implement final digital asset rules and regulations when effective, which will likely require us to undertake due diligence on our customers. This may include the use of third-party data and service providers which we will cross-reference with your personal information.

Sharing with Facebook:

We may utilize the Facebook Graph API to enhance and personalize your experience on our platforms. This section of our Privacy Policy aims to provide you with clear and transparent information about how we collect, use, and protect your data when you interact with our application through the Facebook Graph API. By using our services and connecting with your Facebook account, you consent to the practices described below.

Data Collection

When you access YouApp using the Facebook Graph API, we may collect the following types of information from your Facebook account:

Public Information: We may access the public information available on your Facebook profile, such as your name, profile picture, cover photo, gender, and other publicly shared information.

Authorized Data: If you grant us specific permissions through the Facebook Graph API, we may access additional information from your Facebook account, such as your email address, friends list, birthday, and other data you choose to share.

Use of Facebook Graph API Data

The data collected from the Facebook Graph API is used to provide and improve our services, enhance your user experience, and personalize the content and recommendations you receive on YourApp.ai. We may use this data for the following purposes:

Account Creation and Authentication: We may use your Facebook account information to create and authenticate your account on our platform.

Personalization: By analyzing the data retrieved from the Facebook Graph API, we can tailor content, recommendations, and advertisements to match your interests and preferences.

Social Features: We may offer social features that allow you to share content or interact with other users through your Facebook account.

Communication: We may use your email address (if provided) to send you important notifications, updates, and marketing communications related to our services. You can opt-out of marketing communications as outlined in our main Privacy Policy.

Data Sharing and Security

We prioritize the security of your data and implement appropriate measures to protect it from unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse. We do not sell any of the data obtained through the Facebook Graph API to third parties.

However, please be aware that when you interact with our application through the Facebook Graph API, some of your information may be shared with Facebook in accordance with their data practices and policies. We recommend reviewing Facebook’s Privacy Policy to understand how they handle your data.

User Controls and Choices

You have control over the data you share through the Facebook Graph API. You can review and modify your Facebook privacy settings to manage what information is accessible to YourApp through the API. Additionally, you can revoke the permissions granted to our application at any time through your Facebook account settings.

6. HOW WE STORE YOUR PERSONAL DATA

The data that we collect from you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside of Singapore. We pseudonymise and aggregate certain Personal Information to improve our services. It may also be processed by staff operating outside of Singapore who work for us or for one of our suppliers. By submitting your personal data, you agree to this transfer, storing or processing, except customers located in the EEA, as detailed above. All information you provide to us is stored on our and/or third party cloud servers.

7. ACCESS, CORRECTION, AND DELETION OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA

You have the right to obtain a copy of your Personal Data upon request and ascertain whether the information we hold about you is accurate and up-to-date. If any of your Personal Data is inaccurate, you may request to update your information. You may also request to delete your Personal Data, with the exception that we may refuse your deletion request in certain circumstances, such as compliance with law or legal purposes. For data access, correction, or deletion requests, please refer to the point 11 of this Privacy Policy.

In response to data access, correction, or deletion requests, we will verify the requesting party’s identity to ensure that he or she is legally entitled to make such request. While we aim to respond to these requests free of charge, we reserve the right to charge you a reasonable fee should your request be repetitive or onerous.

8. CHILDREN

We are especially sensitive about children’s information. Our services are not targeted towards children, and our users must be at legal age to use the Services. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13. If you are a parent or legal guardian of a minor child, we will treat any information that you provide us while using YouApp on behalf of your minor child as Personal Information as otherwise provided in this Privacy Policy. If you have questions concerning our information practices with respect to children, or if you learn that a child under the age of 13 has used YouApp, created a user account, or provided us with personal information, please contact us.

9. MARKETING

We may communicate company news, promotions, and information relating to our products and services provided by YouApp. We may share Personal Data with third parties to help us with our marketing and promotional projects, or sending marketing communications. By using YouApp, you accept this Privacy Policy and you agree to receive such marketing communications.

Customers can opt out from these marketing communications at any moment. If you do not want to receive these communications, please contact us.

For product related communications, such as policy/terms updates and operational notifications, you will not be able to opt out of receiving such information.

10. COOKIE USAGE

While you access YouApp, we may use the industry practice of placing a small amount of data that will be saved by your browser (Cookies). This information can be placed on your computer or other devices used to visit YouApp. This information helps us recognize you as a customer, collect information about your use of YouApp to better customize the Services and better your experience. We may also use the information collected to ensure compliance with our compliance program, and to ensure your account security has not been compromised by detecting irregular or suspicious account activities.

Most browsers are set up to accept cookies automatically. Some Cookies expire when you finalize the session and other Cookies remain on your computer or other devices until deleted or expired. You have the option to decline the use of our Cookies, but this may affect the functionality of the Services or your overall user experience.

11. INFORMATION SECURITY

We strive to protect YouApp and you from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction of Personal Data we collect and store. We take various measures to ensure information security, including encryption of the YouApp communications with SSL; required two-factor authentication for all sessions; periodic review of our Personal Data collection, storage, and processing practices; and restricted access to your Personal Data on a need-to-know bases for our employees and vendors who are subject to strict contractual confidentiality obligations.

12. GOVERNING LAW

This Privacy Policy shall be governed in all respects by the law in Singapore. 

13. EFFECT OF NOTICE AND CHANGES TO NOTICE

This Privacy Policy applies in conjunction with any other notices, contractual clauses and consent clauses that apply in relation to the collection, use, disclosure and/or processing of your Personal Data by us.

YouApp shall have the discretion to update this Privacy Policy at any time without prior notice. You may determine if any such revision has taken place by referring to the date on which this Notice was last updated. You acknowledge and agree that it is your responsibility to review this Privacy Policy periodically and become aware of modifications. Your continued use of the Services constitutes your acknowledgement and acceptance of such changes.

14. DATA RETENTION

The Privacy Policy of YouApp outlines how we save your transactional data and Know Your Customer (KYC) data for a period of up to 7 years. This information, which is collected in order to facilitate manual bank transfers and payments to and from our business and our payment partners, includes your full name, identification evidence, address proof, and bank details. By maintaining this information, YouApp is able to comply with various legal and regulatory requirements and ensure the security and integrity of our financial transactions. At our company, we take the protection of your personal information very seriously and have implemented appropriate measures to safeguard it

15. DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION TO THIRD PARTIES

The Privacy Policy of YouApp outlines how we collect and store users’ full names, identification documents, address proofs, and bank details in order to facilitate manual bank transfers and payments to and from our business and payment partners. To ensure the security and integrity of financial transactions, we only work with licensed and regulated entities for payments.
